Hi, I’m Lori — the artist and maker behind Loire.
I began my career as a Civil Engineer and worked as a Structural Designer for a few years. But when the pandemic brought me back home to Bohol, I found myself reconnecting with my creative side. I’ve always been drawn to building and making — more to form, structure, and texture than to painting or illustration. Growing up surrounded by my mom’s cross-stitch projects at home sparked that love for hands-on craft, and eventually led me to teach myself sewing and pattern-making using my dad’s old sewing machine.
In 2023, that curiosity became Loire. My first experiment was a heart-shaped tote, simple but full of character. What started as a personal project quickly grew into a signature style people connected with, and the Heart Tote remains at the heart of Loire today.
Loire is built on intention: simple in form, functional in use, and expressive in shape. I work primarily with 1600D cotton canvas fabric in natural and colored finishes — a heavy-duty textile chosen for its strength, structure, and timeless feel. Its weight gives each bag the ability to hold shape beautifully, making it the perfect foundation for small-batch pieces that balance durability with a quiet statement.
Loire continues to evolve. I’ve started exploring upcycled collections, giving new life to discarded fabrics, and experimenting with denim to expand what a Loire bag can be. Each step is about honoring craftsmanship while pushing design forward — always rooted in structure, function, and heart.
